MALE VOICE CHOIR TO PERFORM WEMBLEY CLASSICS

THE Featherstone Male Voice Choir will be performing live this weekend as we build towards kick-off in the fifth round of the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup.

This Sunday, the Rovers welcome Oldham to The LD Nutrition Stadium, with both sides seeking a place in the tournament’s last 16.

The contest marks almost 50 years to the day Featherstone first enjoyed Challenge Cup glory, at Wembley, and anniversary celebrations will commence prior to the game.

The town’s male voice choir will be performing a host of Wembley classics, in addition to ‘Abide With Me’ - the sport’s traditional Challenge Cup final anthem - from 2.30pm.

The choir was founded in 1963 and boasts more than 70 members, travelling from across the district to practice and perform every week.

Their on-field display will follow that of the Rovers Dance Academy’s, before Malcolm Dixon, who skippered Featherstone to cup final glory back in 1967, leads Jon Sharp’s side out onto the field.

Tickets for the round-five Ladbrokes Challenge Cup battle between Featherstone and Oldham can be purchased in store and online - by CLICKING HERE.

Jon Sharp will name his LOCO Energy 19-Man Squad for the clash at around 2.00pm today.
