CHRIS Ulugia has been ruled out for the rest of the season and will undergo shoulder surgery next month.
Centre Ulugia, 25, suffered a dislocated shoulder - for the second time this season - in the act of scoring a vital last-minute Featherstone try against London Broncos in August.
Scans have proven inconclusive and surgeons have expressed a desire to operate on Ulugia’s shoulder to carry out necessary repairs.
Head coach John Duffy said: “This is a bit of a setback for Chris but we are pleased to see him undergoing the surgery he needs.
“Once surgeons have got to grips with Chris’ actual problem they will be able to fix him up and get him on the road to recovery.
“At this stage, without knowing the full extent of the problem until the surgery is complete, it is difficult to gauge the exact length of time he will be out of action.”
Ulugia is expected to be sidelined for at least eight weeks after going under the knife.
